University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service - The Cooperative Extension Service has an office in all 75 Arkansas counties. County faculty and state specialists provide education, consultation and other services in agriculture, natural resources, economic and community development, family and consumer science, 4-H and youth development and business development.

2002 Arkansas Commercial Small Fruit and Grape Spray Guide  - The spray guide is a cooperative effort of several states  - Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and West Virginia.

The inside front and back covers are specific to each state and provide Poison Control Center information, E.E.O. statements, as well as other state specific information. The main body of the guide from the Foreword to the Spray Record Sheet is the same for all the states involved.  (Available only in P.D.F. format.)

Agriculture in the Classroom - Agriculture in the classroom is a grassroots program coordinated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Individuals representing farm organizations, agribusiness, education and government carry out the program in each state, according to state needs and interest.

Agricultural Income and Finance is a product of the Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.  The publication looks at farm income, profitability, government payments, production expenses, debts and assets, and other areas of farm finance.

Agricultural Land Values and Cash Rent - is a combined report published by the National Agricultural Statistics Service. The data series has January 1 reference date for land values and crop or grazing year for cash rents.

Agricultural Prices is a monthly product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. American Phytopathological Society - (A.P.S.) is an international scientific organization that promotes the study of plant diseases and their control through publications, meetings, symposia, workshops, and the World Wide Web.

A.P.S. advances modern concepts in plant health management in agricultural, urban and forest settings. The Society was founded in 1908 and has grown from 130 charter members to nearly 5,000 plant pathologists and scientists worldwide.

American Rabbit Breeders Association - is an organization dedicated to the promotion, development, and improvement of the domestic rabbit and cavy.

APHIS (Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service) U.S. State and Territory Animal Import Regulations - This web site contains the latest regulations on interstate movement of animals. USDA - APHIS, presents the files but the regulations are written and maintained by each State. This web site also contains interstate movement for dogs and cats.

The Aquaculture/Fisheries Center of Excellence, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff conducts research, teaching (BS and MS degrees) and Extension programs in support of aquaculture producers, natural fisheries managers and farm pond owners in Arkansas. Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station - The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station is the statewide research component of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture whose mission is to generate, interpret and communicate information and technology for use by individuals, families, communities and businesses.

Arkansas Agricultural Statistics - NASS - Each year, U.S.D.A.' s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) employees conduct hundreds of surveys and prepare reports covering virtually every facet of U.S. agriculture. Its 45 State Statistical Offices (S.S.O) publish data about many topics for local audiences. NASS publications cover a wide range of subjects, from traditional crops, such as corn and wheat, to specialties, such as mushrooms and flowers; from calves born to hogs slaughtered; from agricultural prices to land in farms. The abundance of information produced has earned for NASS employees the title, "The Fact Finders of Agriculture”.

Arkansas Development Finance Authority - Since its creation in 1985, A.D.F.A. has become the State’s largest source of low-cost financing for low-to-moderate income housing development, small industries, government, education, agricultural business enterprises and health care. It provides long-term, fixed rate loans to fund the purchase of real estate, new construction, machinery and equipment and working capital. Loans generally range from a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $1.25 million.

Arkansas Forestry Commission - The Arkansas Forestry Commission was created to protect and develop Arkansas’ forest resource. The A.F.C. works closely with the University of Arkansas System, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Arkansas landowners to achieve these goals by preventing and suppressing wildfires, monitoring and promoting forest health, encouraging reforestation and forest resource stewardship, and gathering and disseminating forest resource information. The Commission sells thousands of seedlings every year to industry and landowners and offer technical advice to landowners interested in managing their forest land.

Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission - The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (A.N.H.C.) is responsible for maintaining the most up-to-date and comprehensive source of information concerning the rare plant and animal species, and high-quality natural communities of Arkansas. Systematic analysis of this natural heritage data can be used to identify locations that hold exceptional importance for the state's natural diversity, but that lack formal protection.

Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies - University of Arkansas - As a multi-college organization that was established at the University of Arkansas in September of 1991, the center brings together the considerable expertise of network of researchers with a long-standing history of GIS development at the University. CAST unites personnel from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and the School of Architecture to introduce and make GIS technologies available to a wide variety of researchers and professionals and furthering the field through basic and applied research.

Center for Applied Spatial Technology (CAST) - Founded in 1984 the Center for Applied Special Technology, CAST is an educational, not-for-profit organization that uses technology to expand opportunities for all people, especially those with disabilities. Center for Health and the Global Environment - A report highlighting the role of climate variability, pests and plant diseases in our nation’s future agricultural productivity was recently released by a group of nationally renowned experts. The report’s aim is to understand how warmer temperatures and an increase in extreme weather events (including spells of very high temperatures, torrential rains and flooding, and droughts), predicted under climate change projections, may affect crop yields, outbreaks of plant diseases, pests, weeds and the economic costs of production.

Crop Production-Acreage–Supplement is a product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. This full-text report presents acreage by planted and/or harvested areas by state for corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, barley, rye, sorghum, rice, peanuts, sunflower, flaxseed, canola, rapeseed, safflower, mustard seed, cotton, dry beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugarbeets, alfalfa hay, hay, tobacco, sugarcane. This report is a supplement to Crop production.

Crop Production-Prospective Plantings–Supplement is a product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Prospective Planting Supplement to Crop Production reports the expected plantings as of March 1 for corn, all wheat, winter wheat, durum wheat, other spring wheat, oats, barley, flaxseed, cotton, rice by length of grain classes, all sorghum, sweet potatoes, dry edible beans, soybeans, sunflower, peanuts, and sugarbeets; acreage for harvest of oats, hay, tobacco.

Crop Progress (NASS-U.S.D.A.) is a product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. This full text file contains reports, issued weekly during the growing season, listing planting, fruiting, and harvesting progress and overall condition of selected crops in major producing states. The data, summarized by crop and by state, are republished along with any corrections in the Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin.

Daily Cotton Spot Prices - A part of U.S.D.A. - A.M.S. Market News Reports provides current, unbiased price and sales information to assist in the orderly marketing and distribution of farm commodities. Reports include information on prices, volume, quality, condition, and other market data on farm products in specific markets and marketing areas. The data is disseminated within hours of collection via the Internet and made available through electronic means, in printed reports, by telephone recordings and through the news media.

Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences; University of Arkansas - Degree programs allow for concentration of studies in disciplines related to the production, processing and marketing of food and fiber; environment and natural resources; and human resources.

Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center - Stuttgart, Arkansas - (D.B. N.R.R.C.) U.S.D.A.-A.R.S. scientists conduct research in eight research categories to help keep the U. S. rice industry competitive in the global market place, by assuring high yields, superior grain quality, pest resistance, and stress tolerance. Shared laboratory space also is provided for the University of Arkansas rice research groups, as well as visiting scientists.

Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center - The Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center program develops the scientific basis for efficiently managing small farm ecosystems and provides innovative and appropriate technologies that enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and productivity of small farms. The Booneville Agricultural Research Service (A.R.S.) location has 6 research scientists, 3 Category III (three) scientists, and 16 support personnel.

Database of IPM Resources - (D.I.R.) This database was created to provide a single, unified way to find I.P.M. information resources and rapidly access them. It also provides a list of informative hyperlinks to web sites developed by specialists engaged in IPM-related research and development worldwide.

Ducks Unlimited - A strong commitment to conservation brings the people of D.U. together. The group conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.

Economic Research Service - U.S.D.A. - ERS provides economic analyses to support a competitive agricultural system, a safe food supply, a healthy, well-nourished population, harmony between agriculture and the environment and enhanced quality of life for rural Americans.

Entomological Society of America - The Entomological Society of America (E.S.A.) is the largest organization in the world serving the professional and scientific needs of entomologists and people in related disciplines. This site gives a descriptive look at the society and member services. On-line journals, newsletters and publications are also available.

Environmental Protection Agency - The E.P.A. employs a highly educated, technically trained staff, more than half of who are engineers, scientists, and environmental protection specialists. The staff works to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment - air, water, and land. The site has a section on rules and regulations and how to find them plus much more.

ERS/U.S.D.A. Commodity Policy Backgrounders is a series of reports on rice, cotton, soybeans, wheat, and feed grains providing commodity-based background information on issues and topics facing producers and industry as the Congressional debate proceeds. These reports address market conditions, policy proposals, WTO considerations, and the interactions between markets and policy.

International Rice Research Institute - IRRI is a nonprofit agricultural research and training center established to improve the well-being of present and future generations of rice farmers and consumers, particularly those with low incomes. Joint Agricultural Weather Facility (J.A.W.F.) - The Joint Agricultural Weather Facility (J.A.W.F.) is jointly operated by the World Agricultural Outlook Board of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The primary mission of the J.A.W.F. is to routinely collect global weather data and agricultural information to determine the impact of growing season weather conditions on crops and livestock production prospects. U.S.D.A. Agricultural Baseline Projections to 2010 - This report provides long-run baseline projections for the agricultural sector through 2010. Projections cover agricultural commodities, agricultural trade, and aggregate indicators of the sector, such as farm income and food prices. The projections are based on specific assumptions regarding macroeconomic conditions, policy, weather, and international developments. The baseline assumes that there are no shocks due to abnormal weather or other factors affecting global supply and demand. The projections assume that current agricultural law of the 1996 Farm Act remains in effect throughout the baseline. The baseline projections presented are one representative scenario for the agricultural sector for the next decade. As such, the baseline provides a point of departure for discussion of alternative farm sector outcomes that could result under different assumptions. The projections in this report were prepared in September through November 2000, reflecting a composite of model results and judgmental analysis.

Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at the University of Missouri - F.A.P.R.I. prepares baseline projections each year for U.S. agricultural sector and international commodity markets. The multi-year projections are published as F.A.P.R.I. Outlooks, which provide a starting point for evaluating and comparing scenarios involving macroeconomic, policy, weather and technology variables. F.A.P.R.I. is joined in special research by a consortium of universities including Texas A&M University, Arizona State University, the University of Arkansas and North Dakota State University.

U.S.D.A. Agricultural Outlook Forum - The U. S. Department of Agriculture's 77th Agricultural Outlook Forum was held on February 22, 2001. The two-day forum opened with a panel discussion by leading experts on the next farm bill. Secretary Veneman spoke along with other noted speakers including World Trade Organization Director General Mike Moore. More than 100 speakers took part in sessions covering prospects for farm policy and trade policy, as well as new marketing trends such as e-commerce, environmental issues, and food safety. Industry and government analysts discussed 2001 prospects for commodity markets, farm costs and returns, and food prices.

U.S.D.A. Agricultural Baseline Projections - The U.S.D.A. Baseline provides longrun (10-year) projections for the U.S. agricultural sector. Projections cover selected agricultural commodities and agricultural trade and aggregate indicators such as farm income and food prices. As "baseline" projections, they represent one plausible scenario for the next 10 years and reflect the results of economic models as well as analysts' judgment. U.S.D.A. - Cotton Ginning (monthly) - This site contains the number of running bales ginned to date for all cotton and American-Pima cotton, by state; county ginnings released with mid-month state ginnings; March report also includes 480-lb. bales ginned and average bale weight by state.

U.S.D.A. - Export Sales Report (Thursday) - Weekly export sales reports serve as a timely early warning system on the possible impact of agricultural obligations on U.S. supplies and prices. The data can be used, for example, to assess the level of export demand, to determine where markets exist, and to assess the relative position of different commodities in those markets.

U.S.D.A. Forest Service - A part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands. The Forest Service which is also the largest forestry research organization in the world, provides technical and financial assistance to state and private forestry agencies. The site contains a wealth of historical information, current maps and brochures. The site also contains info fire prevention info for homeowners and much more.

U.S.D.A. Forest Service Southern Research Station - This site highlights its scientists and their research. Southern Research Station's researchers have excelled in studies on temperate and tropical forests, forest resources, and forest products. These studies provide a wealth of long-term data sets and conclusions on the dynamics of tree plantations and natural stands, watershed management, and wildlife habitats.

U.S.D.A. - Grain Demand Report - A.M.S. provides current, unbiased price and sales information to assist in the orderly marketing and distribution of farm commodities. Reports include information on prices, volume, quality, condition, and other market data on farm products in specific markets and marketing areas. Reports cover both domestic and international markets. The data is disseminated within hours of collection via the Internet and made available through electronic means, in printed reports, by telephone recordings and through the news media.

U.S.D.A. Integrated Pest Management - This C.S.R.E.E.S. Land Grant University I.P.M. Program is implemented by an experienced network of research and extension staff located in all 50 States and 6 Territories. Each year this network directly influences over 11 million acres of U.S. cropland by transferring research-based knowledge through demonstrations, clinics, workshops, scouting programs, consultations, and a wide variety of printed and electronic media. Goals include establishing an agricultural system that is highly competitive in the global economy; providing safe and secure food and fiber system; and promoting greater harmony between agriculture and the environment.

Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin - is a product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. This product contains weekly national agricultural weather summaries, including the weather's effect on crops; summaries and farm progress for 44 states and New England area. This report includes any corrections to the Crop Progress data released the previous day.
